Men’s Tennis Brief
The Bridgewater State University men’s tennis team is in the midst of their week off before the final two matches of the season. The Bears are 9-3 on the season with only a match against University of Massachusetts at Boston remaining before the postseason. In the team’s most recent matches on April 13 and April 16, the team competed against Salem State University, winning 7-2, and then the University of Southern Maine, losing 6-3.
In the match against Salem State, the Bears won all three doubles matches and four of the six single matches. In the doubles matches, teams consisting of sophomore Sean Bleau and junior captain Jesse Gotlib, junior Eric Johnson and freshman Hung Huynh, and freshman Matt McLeod and junior Cody Farrell won their matches.
Against the University of Southern Maine, the doubles team of Bleau and Gotlib won their match. The only other wins of the match came in singles play by Bleau and Johnson. Johnson is now 11-0 on the season in singles play.
