Student mourned after sudden passing

Erik D. Croll, a resident of Westport, MA and Bridgewater State University student, passed away at home on Tuesday, April 9th.

According to his obituary on the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home website, the forty-three year old was studying environmental geoscience. His studies were nearly complete, and he would have received a BS degree with honors. Last summer, he also worked on a research project involving the Marshfield watershed. Croll’s findings were showcased at the AGU Conference in San Francisco.

Croll’s burial was held in North Kingstown with military honors. He was a U.S. army veteran of Desert Storm. He is survived by his parents, step-mother, wife and brother.
