BSU Bears of the Week

Bears of the Week

Matt Green – Senior, Varsity Football, Wide Receiver

Matt Green was the hero for the BSU bears over Westfield State, helping his team earn a 27-23 win and obtain the Sodexo Cup Rivalry Trophy. Green had a huge game, catching 8 passes for a career high 216 yards, as well as three touchdowns, including the game-winner with just seconds left to play. Two of the unstoppable receiver’s touchdowns were from 90 yards or more. Green led the team to its biggest win of the season in dramatic fashion. A staple of the Bears team all season long, Green dominated when it mattered most.

Marinna Emond, Junior, Varsity Field Hockey, Forward

Marinna Emond scored her first two goals of the season in her first career collegiate start over the weekend, leading the Bears to victory over Eastern Connecticut State University 2-1. Emond scored her first goal of the game five minutes into the second half. Just four minutes later, Emond found the back of the net one more time to ice the game for the Lady Bears. It was an inspirational performance for Emond, who was excellent in her first career start as she battled against her own former team (ECSU).
