Donuts for Best Buddies

This past Wednesday, December 5th, the National Residence Hall Honorary Chapter teamed up to support Best Buddies. Both organizations helped sell Krispy Kreme Donuts in both RCC and ECC.

The bake sale was an immense success as 600 donuts were sold in only an hour! Completely sold out. This helped raise awareness for the Best Buddies organization not only on campus but in general, an important message of inclusivity for all individuals across the nation and across campus.

As stated by bestbuddies.org, “Best Buddies is the world’s largest organization dedicated to ending the social, physical and economic isolation of the 200 million people with IDD. For individuals within this community, Best Buddies helps them form meaningful friendships with their peers, secure successful jobs, live independently, improve public speaking, self-advocacy and communications skills, and feel valued by society.”

Best Buddies is such a fun, important way to make life long friendships and creative a positive community here at BSU.

As a member of National Residence Hall Honorary, I am thrilled that we support this organization and helped out with such a successful, not to mention delicious, fundraiser.
