Natural Smoothie Shop
Natural is a new, fresh smoothie shop located in Crimson Dining Hall that opened on Aug 9, 2021. It offers an array of fresh ingredients to make your day a little sweeter.
Natural is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
“The most popular time to go to Natural Smoothie is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.,” said Kayla Sample, the manager at Natural.
So if you’re in a hurry to get to your 9 a.m. class, swing by Natural along the way to kick-start your morning and fill up on some delicious drinks without waiting in a long line.
The shop is getting more popular by the day. Natural “during any given day gets 100 customers,” said Sample.
Natural mixes healthy ingredients into their smoothies to give it the perfect taste. “The most popular smoothie is the peanut butter chia, which is made from peanut butter, fresh bananas, honey, and chia seeds,” said Sample.
Natural is… well, natural! They use completely organic and fresh ingredients for their smoothies and their granola with absolutely no sugar being added.
How do they make their smoothies, you ask? The machinery varies for each fruit being used, “one being used for apples, another one used for carrots, and the last one used for oranges,” said Sample.
The main milk used at Natural is “almond milk, as well as coconut milk,” said Sample. “[Natural] also makes homemade granola and uses pumpkin seeds and dried cherries to mix in with the granola.”
Good news, Bears! There may even be more Naturals popping up around campus!
“Natural Smoothie is thinking of expanding to the other side of campus, but they need to factor in where about they would put it,” said Sample.
Rachael Cordeiro, a senior at BSU, was asked about the overall experience at Natural.
Cordeiro’s go-to order is the “tropical fruit smoothie with apple juice.”
How about Cordeiro’s opinion on the smoothie selection?
“[I would] like the option of building your own smoothie and to mix and match the smoothie flavors [because] some people don’t always like all the smoothie flavors they have,” said Cordeiro.
As Natural Smoothie expands, perhaps it will consider adding some different and unique flavors. They have received a lot of praise from what I have heard on campus. However, there may be one particular critique to take into consideration.
“They need more hours,” said Cordeiro. “Sometimes you want a smoothie for dinner, as you’re not as hungry.”
Overall though, Cordeiro thinks Natural “is delicious” and this suggestion could even give Natural a chance to expand their flavors and brand.
If you are ever in need of a refreshment, don’t hesitate to head on over to Natural! You never know what smoothie mixture will catch you by surprise!
