Batter up, Brockton gets a new professional baseball team in 2024.

The unnamed team will play for the Frontier League, an independent MLB partner league. The League plays a 96 game season from May to September.

The team will play out of Campanelli Stadium, the current home of the Brockton Rox, a collegiate summer baseball team, sharing the stadium with them. This is the first professional baseball team to come to Brockton since the Rox transitioned out of the professional Can-Am League (which merged with the Frontier League in 2019) into The Futures League in 2012 to be a amateur collegiate baseball team.

The team will compete in the Eastern Division, made up of eight teams from Quebec to New Jersey. The League has expanded over the decades, although many of those teams have folded over the years. The Frontier League has closed the Empire State Greys, who played for two seasons, who were a travel team to keep the divisions at an even number.

While the name is still unknown, we know that it won’t have Brockton in its name, it will be New England instead. We also know that it has a naming contest going on for the team’s name and for the mascot.

The Frontier League was founded in 1993 and is the current oldest Independent Baseball League. It consists of an Eastern and Western division both made up of eight teams.

This will be the first Frontier League team in both Massachusetts and all of New England.

The team will start playing on May 10, 2024 when they play against the Ottawa Titans.

The team is owned by Brian Kahn, he currently owns another league team the Windy City ThunderBolts, which was named as the league’s organization of the year in 2023.
