Fashion Trends at BSU
Keeping up with recent fashion trends? As fashion trends come and go, there have been popular trends here on the BSU campus. To dive into some of these recent trends and what students think of them, The Comment interviewed students about what they noticed around campus and how they felt about them.
“I noticed a lot of Uggs around the school right now and Stanley’s. But I just know that the Uggs kind of smell a little and the Stanley’s definitely have mold in them.” (Yaslee Dube, class of ‘27). For anyone who somehow hasn’t seen a Stanley cup, the Stanley’s plaguing the women on campus are large water cups with straws in typically bright colors. Dube noted that she’s seen plenty of different colors and accessories people use with their Stanley Cups. There are a variety of different silicon caps to protect the straws, coming in all shapes and colors. “I was an ex-Stanley user; the straw is just not practical.”
Later, some upperclassmen were asked for their perspective on current BSU trends. “I’ve seen a ton of matching sets, Stanley’s, puffer vests, and platform Uggs. I don’t love those but I do love some cargos, though, and I’ve seen those a lot.” (Lexi Fischer ‘25). The general consensus seems that Uggs and Stanley’s are swarming campus.
Overall, students are wearing what they’re comfortable with and what makes them happy. Class of ‘24 student Ricki Samuels stated “I wish more people took pride in their physical appearance. Everyone would be much happier if they wore a nice fit every day.” Whether you follow the trends or not, if dressing up is what makes you happy, go for it!
