FSL Recruitment Returns on Campus

There are so many amazing organizations to get involved with on campus that can help form connections that last a lifetime. A few of these organizations lie within BSU’s FSL (Fraternity and Sorority Life) community! Within FSL, there are nine organizations with five sororities (Alpha Kappa Alpha, Alpha Sigma Tau, Delta Phi Epsilon, Gamma Phi Beta, and Phi Sigma Sigma) and four fraternities (Kappa Delta Phi, Phi Kappa Theta, Sigma Chi, and Sigma Pi). These organizations offer wonderful opportunities to connect with other students who all demonstrate the pillars of Leadership, Scholarship, Service, and Friendship that BSU’s FSL community strives to stand for.

Members will tell you that it is truly a community that encourages connections and unity across all organizations. When asked what he loved the most about the FSL community at BSU, Jared Woods, a member of Kappa Alpha Phi, answered: “I love the togetherness and opportunities within the FSL community. Within our community, there are so many opportunities to make new connections and gain new experiences.” Joining a sorority or fraternity at BSU can allow any student to become a part of a tight-knit, inclusive community that can make campus feel more like home.

If you’re interested in joining a fraternity or a sorority, now is the time, as Fall is recruitment season for fraternities and sororities at BSU. Going through recruitment may seem daunting at first, but members of FSL will tell you it will ultimately be a rewarding experience. When asked why she chose to join a sorority, Maggie Desrosiers, a member of Phi Sigma Sigma, stated: “I chose to join a sorority because I felt like I needed an empowering community on campus. I was initially very shy and hesitant, but as soon as I went through the first round of recruitment, I felt so comfortable talking to each of the sororities and knew this was a community where I could be pushed outside of my comfort zone!”

The process of joining a fraternity or sorority can seem very intimidating from the outside, but once on the inside, the reward is ultimately worth any initial stress. The process for recruitment for fraternities and sororities at BSU begins at the end of this month. To find more information or to sign up, visit FSL on Engage.
