Falling Behind in Class? Go To Peer Tutoring!
Starting to struggle in one or more of your classes? Sign up for a tutoring appointment with a fellow student at the Academic Achievement Center (AAC)! As we start settling into the semester, it’s common to start struggling with one of your classes. Well, the peer tutors offer tutoring in multiple subjects involving math and writing as board topics. Even if you take a history or science course and don’t know how to start writing a paper, you can sign up for a writing appointment.
Student tutor Taylor Fahey (‘26; She/Her), who tutors in math, stated, “I love helping others and being able to explain topics differently to students that didn’t initially “click” during a lecture.” Students can sign up for either 30 or 60-minute sessions with student tutors and go in with any assignment or general questions. “I’m a math and secondary education double major, so tutoring is what I’m interested in. It’s not a bad thing to ask for help, we’re students too!”
Kiera Marquis (‘25; She/Her), a writing tutor, explained, “I love getting my “regulars” and seeing their progress throughout the semester! Everyone should come by if they feel like they need help, it’s included in your tuition! All of us are also students, we get it, and I feel it takes some pressure off of going to a tutoring appointment.”
Students can schedule an appointment through Accudemia. Once logged in, students can press the “schedule appointment” button, choose a general topic, and assign a class to the appointment. Students can choose a tutor to go to with whatever works with their schedule. Accudemia can be found on BridgeNet/SharePoint under the AAC section.
