Feeling Stressed? These Are the Best Ways to Help at BSU!

Now that we’re over halfway through the Fall semester and with finals, the holidays, and winter looming over our heads, I wanted to share some of the best ways to relieve stress across BSU’s campus! There are plenty of ways to deal with stress, whether that’s taking time for yourself, getting organized, or talking it out. Bridgewater has some great resources that can help relieve your stress!

A great step into managing stress is practicing mindfulness. The SVAS center hosts a weekly meditation session every Thursday from 3:30-4 p.m. in Weygand Hall room 1047. Even if you’ve never meditated before, it can’t hurt to try and take time to relax and get away!

A personal favorite way to relieve stress is to workout, do yoga, or stretch. The body can hold a lot of tension when stressed or overwhelmed. BSU offers a few yoga classes that are open to people of all experiences. There are classes every now and then on Engage and there are group fitness classes that are hosted on Mondays and Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Kelly Gymnasium. Students can register online on the BSU Bears group fitness website.

If the previous methods don’t sound like your thing and the way you deal with stress is by getting organized and planning out your week, you can make an appointment with the AAC to help create a plan. Academic coaching in the AAC, located in the basement/ground floor of the library, helps with schedules, note-taking, and time management. If you’re struggling with your workload and feeling stuck, you should make an appointment by going to BridgeNet and the Accudemia website.
