Love Fall Weather? Take a Walk Around BSU!
It’s hit that time of year. It’s getting chillier, the leaves are changing colors, and sadly, midterms are hitting. Nevertheless, it’s fall time at BSU (minus the random summer weather week in October). BSU’s campus is known for its greenery with multiple peaceful and relaxing areas on campus. Today I’ll tell you all about the best locations on campus to experience and take in the foliage and fall weather.
First up are the botanical gardens behind the Dana Mohler-Faria building. There are a few short pathways and benches throughout the botanical gardens which are surrounded by greenery. While taking a walk-through, you can stop by the greenhouse and can always ask to take a tour with the person working inside.
The next location is what I’m calling the shortcut to Moakley from University Park. The area has two pathways for people to walk through. One is more direct where most people walk between classes, then there’s the windier pathway. On the windy path, there are benches for people to sit on and relax with lights next to them for the nighttime. There are a bunch of trees, bushes, and greenery to really take in the fall weather. The other typical walking pathway has a bridge with a small stream while you’re surrounded by trees and nature. It’s definitely a favorite area to walk through when the weather is nice.
The last place we’ll feature is just a bit off campus, the Bridgewater Square. Located just past Boyden Hall, there are a bunch of small businesses and mini-park-like areas in the middle. On some weekends, there are even fall and holiday vendors in the area for people to visit and buy from. A fan favorite is for sure the lights the town strings up on the trees for nighttime. So, enjoy the fall weather and the foliage by taking a stroll around campus!
