BSU Dining Is Pretty Awesome!
I don’t know how often you think about the people serving your food, but for me, it’s quite often. I hold people like food staff in high regard, and the (very little) recently gained experience I have with serving others and washing dishes feels like nothing in comparison to what college dining faculty, like the ones here at BSU, do every day to keep hundreds of students fed throughout the week.
Next time you’re in ECC or Flynn, spend a moment taking in the sheer variety of foods that have to be made every single day. There are the mainstays, of course, namely pizza and deli options, and—wait, we have delis?! You can just have a custom-made sandwich prepared for you? Do you know how cool that is?! Not to mention the options for those who are gluten free or have other dietary restrictions. And with a variety of foods offered at different mealtimes and even the occasional holiday special, there’s no reason to get bored eating around campus.
But if the unpredictability of ECC and Flynn’s menus isn’t your style, there’s always the food court-style eateries like Bear’s Den. Take a look inside and shop around for snackable goodies alongside options like sushi, salads, and burritos. And let’s not forget Starbucks and Dunkin’ ready to serve familiar favorites to students!
National Employee Appreciation Day is March 7 this year, but it’s important to appreciate the employees who bring you such necessary services every day of the year, on and off campus. So please, do the little things like throwing away disposables before putting your plate on the conveyer belt at ECC or having a conversation with whoever’s ringing up your order in Crimson. It could make both of your days just that little bit brighter.
Oh, and did I neglect to mention that we have our very own campus food truck as well? Because that’s pretty awesome, too.
