BSU Spring Sports Preview
With the spring sports season right around the corner, the BSU Bears are getting ready to shine once again in 2025 and repeat the success they saw the previous year.
Looking at last year’s spring season, BSU spring sports were great all-around. Starting with Women’s sports, The Lacrosse team finished 4th in the standings with a record of 8-11, with six Bears being named to the CSC Academic All-District One At Large Team and two Bears being named All-MASCAC first teamers.
The Softball team finished 5th in the MASCAC standings with a record of 19-20. Two Bears were named to the All-MASCAC teams and two to the CSC Academic All-District One Team.
Three Bears on the Tennis team earned All-Conference awards, while also making it to the LEC Tournament semifinals.
Looking at the men’s side of things, The baseball team finished first in the MASCAC standings with a record of 26-16. Three bears received All-Regional Honors and five received All-MASCAC honors.
The Tennis team also made its first-ever NCAA tournament appearance last season. 2 bears made the All-Little East first team, and Robby Cooney was named the Rookie of the Year.
For both men and women, a combined ten Bears were also named to the Outdoor Track/Field CSC Academic All-District One Team, while Runners Ali McDonough and Corey Stalters earned a chance to run in the NCAA Championship once again.
Looking into the season ahead, it is safe to say that BSU Spring sports, both men and women, are in great shape, and ready to make their mark in 2025. The expectations are high, and the standard is set, all that’s left is to be ready for the season ahead!
