Common Sense isn’t common

Common sense; everyone knows what it is and what it does.

It helps us survive in the real world. We know what our limits are, and what actions to take. Yet, you’d be surprised at how many people do the craziest things without any thought.

Be it saying the wrong thing at the wrong time or causing an accident, one could argue that common sense isn’t all that common. The infamous Darwin Awards testify to how little common sense people actually have.

Even if you try to do the most basic of tasks, somehow, someway, a person will find a way to make problems out of thin air. Not only that, but some will try to brute force the issue, which often leads to more issues.

You know the saying of how if you put a group of monkeys in a room with typewriters and give them an infinite amount of time, they will reproduce the works of Shakespeare? Common sense is a little like that. It’s not that hard to make use of it, and yet so many people tend to get the figurative blue screen of death in their Windows XP brains.

All you have to do, is to make the right judgement call. It’s on you to avoid a horrible fate. It’s on you to keep yourself safe; if you play chicken with a fast-moving vehicle because you want to look manly, the only person to blame if both cars have a nasty accident is you.

It’s gotten to the point where I think around 70% of my closet is thrifted, handed-down clothes or discounted clothes. I am hardly […]
