Video Games to Look Out For!
It’s March, and it unfortunately still feels as if many long weeks of tests, projects, and essays lie ahead (Most likely because they still do). However, if you’re a gaming nerd like I am, then it isn’t all that bad. With tons of new gaming projects either being released or on the way, there is a lot to look forward to!
Starting first with a new release, the remake for the 2015 game, Xenoblade Chronicles X, came out on March 20th. The game adds both some quality improvements and also brand-new content as well.
Looking towards the racing scene, both Nintendo and Sega have brand new games in the work. While we’ve only seen a little bit of it in the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal, a new Mario Kart game is definitely in the works. While the title and tracks remain unknown, one thing that we saw in the trailer is that they will be trying out a new cartoony look over the traditional one from Mario Kart 8. As for Sega, they will be releasing Sonic Racing CrossWorlds later this year. The game advertises a new ‘changing worlds’ mechanic with racing; however, I think the bigger standout is the cast. Not only are previously forgotten racers being added, such as Cream, Jet, Charmy, and Espio, but they are also promising more characters in the form of DLC.
Another new project is Directive 8020, a brand-new game in the interactive horror series, The Dark Pictures Anthology. The game follows a group of astronauts who crash-land on a planet of a shapeshifting alien. Like the other games in the series, the choices players make will determine who survives the journey; however, there’s a lot of new things promised, such as stealth and inventory mechanics. The game is set for a release on October 2nd, 2025.
And those are just some of the exciting projects coming up! So, remember, even if the end of the school year gets rough, there is a lot of ‘pro gaming’ to look forward to!
