Celtics 2025 Season Review
The Boston Celtics capped off another stellar season, finishing as one of the teams to beat come playoff time. The gamble to maintain the team’s core from their championship season in 2024 paid off in a big way, resultung in a 61-21 record.
Celtics’ superstar Jayson Tatum posted another fantastic season, proving himself to be one of the bes tthe NBA has to offer. Tatum averaged 26.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 6 assists, and shot 45.2% from the field (34.3% from the three-point line). Playing in a impressive 72 games, Tatum improved on both ends of the ball, cementing himself as a franchise cornerstone and a team leader.
Tatum’s supporting cast was also extremely impressive this season as well, which started with his right hand man in Jaylen Brown. Brown averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and shot 46.3% from the field (32.4% from three). Brown played his role effectively all season long, thus making him both an All-NBA and All-Defensive calibar player.
Alongside Tatum and Brown were some of the best role players in the NBA, complimenting the two J’s perfectly. Kristaps Porziņģis (19.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, 48.3% from the field, and 41.2% from three), Derrick White (16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.1 blocks), and Jrue Holiday (11.1 points, 44.3% from the field, All-Defenseive calibar player) capped off arguably the most lethal and well rounded lineup in the NBA.
Boston also got great seasons from their bench. Payton Prithcard (14.3 points, 47.2% from the field, 40.7% from three) unexpectedly emerged as one of the best 6th men in basketball, winning the 2025 NBA 6th Man of the Year Award. The agless wonder, Al Horford, showcased that he can still play at a high level, as he privided much needed depth to the rotation.
After securing the 2nd seed in the Eastern Conference, Boston will be looking to repeat their run last season and become NBA champions once again. Their journey starts against the Orlando Magic in Round One.
