Drag Queens? The Queens of Drag!
On March 27, Program Council hosted one of the most lively and vibrant events of the school year, the annual Drag Show. Brought to campus were four of the most talented local drag performers to grace the stage of Rondileau Student Union’s large ballroom, creating an electrifying night for all attending students and guests. Some lucky students even had the ability to gain VIP access, getting an exclusive meet-and-greet and photo-op with the performers. This is just one of the exciting events planned for Bristaco’s Bucketlist, including events such as the spring concert and the birthday bash.
Four show-stopping queens, Izzy Ready, Chanel Thee Angel, Candace Persuasian, and Destiny Boston engaged the attendees with their breathtaking outfit changes, crowd interaction, and rhythmic choreography. With incredible performances came a great setlist of songs from the queens’ DJ, featuring artists from Chappell Roan to Beyoncé.
The all-Transgender cast brought awareness to Trans Visibility Day on March 31, a day dedicated to highlighting the accomplishments made by the community and raising awareness on how we can make society more inclusive for Transgender individuals.
As a BSU student and member of Program Council, never have I seen a more engaged crowd. Students, volunteers, and grandmothers alike were involved in the show. I even got to participate in the lip-sync and dance competition, you could compare my dance moves to the inflatable promoters at car dealerships.
Whether you missed out on this event or, were stunned by the performances at this show, you can follow them on social media platforms, and make sure to look out for any shows in the Boston area.
