Tips for Registration
Are you ready for registration at Bridgewater State University? Well, look no further, the Academic Achievement Center at BSU has advisors, appointments, and resources for students to use to prepare for registration.
First, students should look to see how many credits they have on their Infobear’s Student Profile to determine the time and day they will be registering for classes. In Student Profile, students can click on Degree Works, which shows the students’ progress in completing their degree from prerequisites to requirements.
From the Student Profile page, students can click on Registration and Planning and sign their agreement forms. After the agreement form is signed, there is a page with the function of Plan Ahead, where students see what classes are available for the semester and plan before registration day. On the day of registration, students can click on add plan instead of having to search and select their classes on registration day individually.
During registration, some of the classes the student plans to take may fill up before the student can enroll. Students should consider backup classes, which are the same course at different times and days.
It is strongly advised that students email their academic advisors to receive the PIN they need to be able to register. Academic advisors are typically faculty in the department the student is pursuing or knowledgeable about registration and fulfilling core requirements. Through the AAC website, students can make appointments with their advisors. Peer advisors are available in the AAC to help students with course selection and answer any questions about registration.
The AAC has Registration Basics Workshops, where peer advisors and staff set up sessions to help students figure out registration. To learn more, please check out the AAC and AAC Website: https://studentbridgew.sharepoint.com/sites/AcademicAchievementCenter
