Tolerance: It’s What You do With it

“So much for the tolerant left.” Yeah actually. So much for that. I am sick of the constant rhetoric that to achieve an equitable and comfortable life for everyone in the U.S. that we should just embrace each other’s different views and all sing Kumbaya. News flash, that is literally not how progress is made.

Guys, I don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but the right has gotten to the point that they are at by being extremely vocal about their oppressive views. In fact, the right is known for their aggressive approach to enacting their views on those that do not fit into their little bubbles, and I am sick of the left acting like we all got here through a fair battle. ELON MUSK OPENLY BUYS VOTES. The race has never been fair, so we need to stop playing by the rules as if it is.

My views are simple. I do not think the government should have the power to negate what anyone does with their body. Be that an abortion or lack thereof, gender re-assignment surgery, hysterectomy, big drag makeup, etc. What people do with their bodies, in their privacy, on their own volition is up to them. If you disagree, then I do not want to talk to you, associate with you, or be nice to you.

Just like the right think they are entitled to strip people of their human rights; I am entitled to fighting back however rudely I want. Peacefulness is an option, but as Malcolm X stated, you should never be nonviolent unless you run into some nonviolence. And let’s be clear, the unprecedented rate at which the right has begun to strip women, immigrants, and queer people of their rights is far from nonviolent. Be loud, fight back, and do not be afraid to treat people how they treat you.

You forgot to fill out your housing form?!” shouts Random Student A. “You forgot to select the room we wanted?!” yells Random Student B. […]

An Ode to Vinted

Why does it feel like every time I walk into a store nowadays, I’m just looking at a landfill. Like, seriously, all the clothes are tacky, out of style, and way overpriced. It’s gotten to the point where I think around 70% of my closet is thrifted, handed-down clothes or discounted clothes. I am hardly […]
