Trump Has Brought Needed Change
When evaluating Trump’s second term, it’s important to remember that just a few months ago we had Joe Biden as president. Biden was a weak leader who failed to solve our national crises or deliver the changes he campaigned on. He left office with a 39% approval rating, much lower than Trump’s current 47%.
Before Trump was elected last November, about 27% of Americans said that the country was on the right track. Now that number is up to about 41% (RealClearPolitics). The majority of Americans view Trump as “tough” and “energetic” (CBS), which is a big contrast from the tired and confused Biden.
Trump has moved fast to fulfill his campaign promises, especially on immigration. From February 2024, to February 2025, the number of illegal immigrants apprehended at the border dropped by 94%! Trump’s administration has also worked to deport thousands of criminals, including child predators and members of violent gangs.
Under Trump, inflation is lower and the price of gas and eggs have begun to drop. Since his election, major companies have committed to trillions of dollars of investment in the USA. Even the tariffs serve an important purpose to negotiate better deals and stand up to China’s unfair practices.
Trump’s election has also changed our culture positively. Wokeness, cancel culture and radical identity politics are on the retreat. Common sense and patriotism are back on the rise.
Trump campaigned on taking a sledgehammer to the status quo in Washington, and that’s what he’s doing. Sure, the sledgehammer can be messy and chaotic, but the lesson from November’s election is that people would rather vote for the sledgehammer than for someone who doesn’t offer meaningful change. If Democrats wanted to avoid this, they should have done a better job in the four years Biden had to run the country.
