Everything Happening with d4vd

Twenty-year-old singer David Anthony Burke, better known by the stage name d4vd, has recently been in the public eye for his alleged involvement in the disappearance and death of would-be 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Burke initially rose to prominence from his single Romantic Homicide gaining attention on TikTok in 2022, signing with Darkroom and Interscope Records as a result. Since then, he has opened for several of SZA’s shows during her SOS Tour, released singles in collaboration with the animated series Arcane and Invincible, and performed at Coachella in 2025, among other career achievements.

On September 8, 2025, one day after what would’ve been Celeste’s 15th birthday, her heavily decomposed and dismembered body was discovered in the front trunk of an impounded Tesla registered in Burke’s name, close to a rental home he was staying at in Hollywood Hills, Los Angeles, California. The car had been abandoned for over a month by that point and was investigated by officers due to reports of a foul odor coming from the vehicle.

Celeste’s remains have since been released back to her family for memorial services with her cause of death not made public at this time. Burke has not officially been named as a suspect in her case, though police have searched his rental home and confiscated several electronics from the residence. Burke is said to currently be cooperating with authorities.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Celeste was reported missing three times by her family in 2024. Her home in Lake Elsinore, California is 76 miles from where her body was found. Friends and acquaintances of Burke were “shocked” to learn the victim’s age, reporting that they believed Celeste was 19 years old, a student at the University of Southern California, and in a relationship with Burke.

Further implications between Burke and the victim include the music video for Romantic Homicide released on Celeste’s birthday (with the woman featured in the video said to resemble the victim), matching “Shhh…” tattoos on both of their right index fingers in red ink (though other celebrities also have the same tattoo), and claims from Celeste’s mother that her daughter told her she was dating someone named David. Photos and videos allegedly showing Burke and the victim together have been uncovered, but nothing is confirmed.
