Get Hype for Homecoming!
Get hype for one of the largest BSU community celebrations, homecoming! This upcoming Saturday, October 18, students, parents, and alumni will come together to celebrate 185 years of Bridgewater and all we have accomplished as a community.
You might be wondering—what exactly is homecoming?
For this year’s homecoming football game, the Bridgewater Bears (1-4) will take on the Dean College Bulldogs (0-5) for what is anticipated to be a fun yet close matchup. The game kicks off at 4 P.M., yet families will start the celebration as early as 11 A.M. with tailgate grilling and yard games.
At the tailgate, there will be a variety of pop-up tents from some of our organizations, including EXCEL and Fraternity and Sorority Life. Alumni from said organizations will come back to campus in celebration of their time at BSU and to commemorate new members.
Leading up to the main event, Program Council will be hosting a series of events. One event is a yearly fall tradition—Casino Night. It will be held in the RSU grand ballroom 6–10 P.M. Officers across all organizations will participate as blackjack dealers, even some of us here at The Comment!
Are you looking to get more involved in the behind-the-scenes of homecoming? Come to banner decorating in the RSU Demo Room 6–9 P.M. It is a great way to get involved and let your creative juices flow! “Crimson Roar the Night Before” will be held on Friday, October 17, 7–10 P.M., featuring food trucks, yard games, music, and even live performances from our dance teams on campus.
You can get more involved with homecoming by going to the Program Council office in Rondileau Student Union room 103 and signing up to volunteer for events. Have a bear-y happy and safe Homecoming Week!
