McLaren Wins 2025 F1 Constructors’ Championship
In a dominant showcase of consistency and speed, McLaren has officially claimed the 2025 Formula 1 Constructors’ Championship. The British team clinched the championship at the Singapore Grand Prix, with six races still left in the season. Although George Russell (Mercedes) won, McLaren’s points accumulation was sufficient to secure the title.
This victory marks McLaren’s 10th Constructors’ title, moving them to second place on the all-time list, just behind Ferrari with 16 titles. It also marked their first back-to-back Constructors’ Championship win in 34 years.
Their campaign this year has been marked by dominance, with the team securing 12 wins out of 18 races, including seven 1-2 finishes by their two drivers, Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris. The timing of their victory also highlights their supremacy: clinching the championship with six rounds remaining shows that no competitor could seriously challenge their stronghold. Analysts have noted that McLaren’s depth of performance, reliability, and strategic consistency made them virtually unbeatable once they gained momentum mid-season.
It would be remiss not to acknowledge McLaren’s resurgence over the past couple of years. After ending a 26-year Constructors’ drought with their 2024 title, where in the same season looked like the worst on the grid, they brilliantly found something within the car, becoming a powerhouse once again.
Throughout the 2025 season, McLaren’s drivers have delivered numerous flawless performances, often finishing far ahead of competitors and earning crucial points race in and race out. However, McLaren’s success has not been without internal tensions. The ongoing Drivers’ Championship battle between Piastri and Norris has flared up recently, with close racing and differing strategies raising questions about the team’s handling of their infamous “Papaya Rules.” Even with the controversy, McLaren has maintained the mindset that they will continue to be fair and allow the drivers to compete, so long as they adhere to team regulations.
With the constructors’ crown now secured, attention turns to how Piastri, Norris, and rival Max Verstappen will compete in the final stretch for the Drivers’ Championship.
