MLB Playoffs Roll On
The excitement of October baseball is nearing its peak, with four teams left and the stakes higher than ever. As of Tuesday, October 14, both League Championship Series are set, characterized by surprises, close games, and intense drama throughout the postseason.
In the American League, the Seattle Mariners have taken a strong 2–0 series lead over the Toronto Blue Jays in the ALCS, after winning two away games in Toronto. Coming off a 15-inning thriller to clinch an ALCS spot, Seattle’s effective pitching and power hitters have put the Blue Jays under significant pressure to perform on the road. Toronto will rely on starter Shane Bieber for a crucial Game Three, while Seattle will send dependable right-hander George Kirby to the mound.
In the National League, the Los Angeles Dodgers have taken an early lead, winning Game One of the NLCS against the Milwaukee Brewers with a 2–1 score. The standout performance was by Blake Snell, who pitched eight scoreless innings, striking out ten and walking none.
Freddie Freeman hit a solo home run in the sixth inning, with Mookie Betts adding an insurance run with a bases-loaded walk in the ninth.
The Brewers almost mounted a late comeback against rookie Roki Sasaki, but the Dodgers held their ground—highlighted by Blake Treinen striking out Brice Turáng with the bases loaded.
Game Two is set for Tuesday, as both teams will fight for control in this best-of-seven series.
The journey here has been filled with storylines. The Dodgers moved past the Phillies in the Division Series with a walk-off error by Orion Kerkering in Game Four, ending Philadelphia’s season dramatically.
Meanwhile, Milwaukee eliminated the Cubs to reach the NLDS, capitalizing on a strong lineup and resilient bullpen.
In the ALDS, Toronto defeated New York in four games, while Seattle narrowly beat Detroit in a thrilling 5-game series.
Looking ahead, all attention will be on Game Three in Seattle (ALCS) and Game Two in Milwaukee (NLCS). With the World Series starting on October 24, the final stages of the journey are now in motion.
