Off-Campus Business Spotlight: The Boundless Bean
Whether you are a resident looking for a quick bite to eat near campus or a commuter needing a pick-me-up before class, the Boundless Bean is the place for you.
Opened in 2023 by Elena and Tommy Hogan, this coffeehouse is a known staple to many in the Bridgewater community. While they are recognized as a coffeehouse, they also offer many delicious baked goods like cinnamon rolls, cookies, pretzel bites and more—and, of course, there are the drinks, ranging from coffee to tea to cherry limeade. On top of the food, they also sell merchandise, including t-shirts, hats, and jewelry, some of which you can purchase through their online store or in person, at the shop itself. When it comes to the coffeehouse, there is both outdoor patio seating for warm, sunny days as well as comfortable indoor seating that creates a warm and welcoming environment for all patrons.
One aspect of the Boundless Bean that puts it miles above most other stores is its dedication to inclusivity. Their website dedicates a section to discussing how inclusivity is important in the workplace and beyond. They hope to create job opportunities for the exceptional people in Massachusetts and support the growth of inclusive businesses throughout the US.
Recently, the Bridgewater community has been giving the shop a lot of attention due to issues regarding construction in the area surrounding the coffee shop. In a post on Facebook, they addressed how the sidewalk closure next to the store has been killing their business. They have stated that business may not be able to go on like it has before the construction started, citing a lack of foot traffic and loss of parking. However, this is not holding them back. They have also made sure to acknowledge that they are still open and thank customers who are still able to show up.
This post gained lots of social media attention, and they thanked fans for their support while also acknowledging their motivation as a business: to bring people together in a supportive environment and create a positive community.
