The Bridge Student Film Festival: Come See Student-Made Films!
Are you interested in film and looking for a fun event to go to? Are you possibly a film major, wishing to connect with experts? Are you simply a lover of film and student art? If so, the Bridge Student Film Festival is going to be a perfect event for you to attend!
The showcase will take place Tuesday, December 2 at the Moakley Auditorium at 10:30 AM. It will consist of a panel of wonderful experts relating to anything involving film who have the opportunity to witness multiple student-created films. Both panel members and those who attend will have the chance to see these incredible pieces as well as meet the Bridgewater State students who put months of work and dedication into these films.
The event is also entirely student-coordinated, advised by Dr. Michele Meek. When talking to Bridgewater State Student and Public Relations and Event Logistics coordinator Kaleigh Edgar, she expressed her pure excitement to share this event with her fellow students. When asking her why she thinks this is a wonderful event for students to go to, she felt as though the Bridge Film Festival is a great opportunity to showcase student work, from both Bridgewater State and other institutions all over New England. It’s a wonderful chance to connect with professors, fellow filmmakers, and simply to enjoy some beautiful pieces of film.
The Bridge Film Festival is consistently run by students taking the Film Festival class here at Bridgewater State, taught by Dr. Michele Meek. Because of this, Kaleigh highlighted how this is “Run by students, made for students.” Therefore, both her and her fellow classmates are responsible for multiple aspects of the project, making the event even more exciting and rewarding. This is the school’s third year running the event, which means both Kaleigh and her classmates have the opportunity to build off previous years’ experience, making this year’s Film Festival the best one yet! Kaleigh states that it’s an incredible chance to “see what past classes have done and expand upon it.”
Be sure to head to Moakley Center on December 2 at 10:30 AM to catch this wonderful student-led film event! To see all the updates and behind-the-scenes work, check out @bridgestudentfilmfest on Instagram!
