2025 Spotify Wrapped: Are Fans Impressed?
Spotify’s 2025 Wrapped has been officially released as of December 3, 2025. Fans are generally happy with the black and white checker-pattern design, along with bright red and green accents.
Spotify provided users with their most-streamed artists, albums, songs, genres, and the total number of minutes they’ve streamed music, as usual. Along with this, Spotify added a mixture of new categories this year, such as what listening “age” you are based on what decade of music you listen to the most. Many have taken this as an opportunity to share their love of music with the internet, showcasing what tracks deserve attention and bringing light to both well-known artists as well as newer, underground musicians trying to get their foot in the door.
However, Spotify has received recent backlash that has only come further to fruition with the newly released Spotify Wrapped. Since late September, Spotify has streamed multiple ICE recruitment ads as, according to one of their spokespeople, “part of a broad campaign the US government is running” that Spotify shouldn’t solely receive backlash for. However, many fans see this as a deliberate attempt to support the actions of ICE in return for making some cash for the company, leading to many streamers discontinuing their time with Spotify and criticism of the site for supporting an agency associated with direct discrimination and abuse of immigrants. Despite being in hot water, the company still has millions of loyal customers.
How was your Spotify Wrapped—if you use Spotify? Did you find the results accurate, or did something seem a bit off? Did you judge your friend’s Spotify Wrapped (obviously)? How do you feel about Spotify as a whole?
