Sex Week at BSU
Each year, the BSU community and the Sexual Violence Advocacy and Support Center (SVAS) observe the first week of February as Sex Week, aiming to encourage healthy conversations surrounding sex, sexuality, and relationships.
The SVAS Center is a confidential office that supports campus members in reporting options, supportive measures on a community member’s behalf, informational opportunities, and violence prevention trainings. They are dedicated to reducing incidents of sexual assault and relationship violence within the BSU community.
Sex week is about creating a space for students to learn and grow. The SVAS center believes in sex positivity and views this week as an educational initiative and sexual violence prevention strategy.
Sex Week includes a variety of fun, informational events including the Sex Week Carnival, arts and crafts opportunities, and the infamous Sex Week Game Night. The events feature lineups of incredible vendors, food, and educational opportunities. The Sexploration Table provided students an outlet for their curiosity regarding sex, safety, and a variety of free sexual wellness supplies.
If you missed the Sex Week events this year, don’t worry, the SVAS center website includes a variety of online resources under their resource library, free and accessible to all students. Their online trainings provide a hub for the BSU community to learn more about important topics related to sexual assault and dating violence at a self-paced rate.
