The 2026 anime season so far, with releases such as Frieren season two, Journal With Witch, and Fate/Strange Fake, has been superb. Jujutsu Kaisen season three, currently sitting at #4 on MyAnimeList’s airing page, has released seven episodes as of the writing of this article. These episodes, individually rated between 7.8/10 and 9.7/10 on IMDB, cover the end of the Shibuya Incident arc, the Perfect Preparation arc, and the very beginning of the Culling Games arc.

One of this season’s largest draws is its introduction of many new characters associated with the Culling Games arc. Hajime Kashimo is among the first to be introduced in the anime, soon to be followed by Reggie Star and the long-awaited Hiromi Higuruma in the next few episodes. Additionally, the recent introduction of Kinji Hakari and Kirara Hoshi has sparked a deluge of fan content online.

Another draw of season three is the animation, as well as the direction decisions. When adapting a manga into an anime, the animators and directors have to fill out many of the smaller moments in between manga panels. This is something that Jujutsu Kaisen season three has done exceptionally well. To use an example from S3, E4, the takedown of the episode’s villain received an instant replay from four different angles. Another example, from S3, E3, has the previously blank-white background of the manga turn into what is essentially a dynamic power-point presentation, elevating the scene.

Overall, Jujutsu Kaisen season three is, by many measures, exceeding expectations, and is absolutely worth a watch for fans of the anime and the manga. For those who are not currently fans, the show in its entirety is worth a watch as well.
