Smile News: Girl Scout Breaks Cookie-Selling Records
Pim, a girl scout from western Pennsylvania, has taken the internet by storm, breaking the all-time cookie sales record.
Pim Anorak-Neill has stolen the hearts of millions. Pim was denied from two troops before joining her current troop—the first, for her age; and the second, due to the troop being unwelcoming to children with disabilities. However, Pim is now very happy to have landed with the Girl Scout Daisies.
As of February 16, Pim has sold over 100,000 boxes of cookies at a starting period of January 6, with cookie sales ending on March 22 for her district.
Pim has sold more boxes of girl scout cookies in one season than any other girl in the history of the Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania District, also surpassing the state record. She has gained a loyal fanbase of buyers through a combination of door-to-door sales; advertising the cookies to members of her family and church; and most importantly, social media outreach. Her father, Lucus Anorak-Neill, has seen an immense impact on Pim’s personality: “It has been the best thing ever for her confidence.”
Pim has become a celebrity, being featured on multiple major news networks. She has 60,800 followers on her “Life of a Pim” TikTok page, which Anorak-Neill created before Pim started selling the cookies. With the major success she has gained, she has used her platform to help her fellow Daisies reach their cookie-selling goals.
Pim’s mission to sell as many cookies as she could stemmed from an added incentive girl scouts are offered. For every milestone of boxes sold, the girls can earn “Girl Scout Dollars” to spend on experiences. The reward for selling 2,026 boxes was a trip to Niagara Falls.
Anorak-Oneill planned to take Pim to see the falls for the first time last year. However, Pim’s father learned he needed a lung transplant, and the trip was called off. Pim quickly reached that goal, before even taking to social media, through her door-to-door sales.
Pim’s parents are proud to see what she has accomplished and cannot wait to see how she will flourish from this experience.
