The Boundless Bean to Open a Second Location in East Bridgewater
Bridgewater’s highest rated coffee shop, The Boundless Bean, is set to open its second location in mid-to-late April at East Bridgewater’s YMCA. The store has received praise from reviewers for their delicious food and coffee, “out of this world good service,” and mission of hiring individuals with disabilities, who may have struggled with finding or maintaining employment.
The YMCA approached The Boundless Bean about opening a store when a space for a restaurant became available, which they accepted. Co-founder and co-owner Elena Hogan said that their partnership with the YMCA would support their mission by creating inclusive spaces, along with creating new revenue sources to support their employees and business.
Hogan, a licensed occupational therapist, explained that throughout her career she found “You’re always working on goals and then hoping that people carry that over into their lives, and there’s a lot that’s outside of your control.” According to her, the Boundless Bean has allowed her and her husband, Tommy, to get more involved with making a difference in people’s lives. “I really wanted more in the action,” she says. “So, we were talking about opening a place where we get to employ individuals with differing abilities instead of teaching accommodations and hoping that people follow through with them, really putting it into action here and seeing it come to life.”
The new location will be open every day, except Sunday, from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and may also open for evenings in the future. Along with coffee and pastries, the menu will include sandwiches, fruit salads, protein boxes, bagels, and more. Despite the new location being inside the YMCA, patrons will not need YMCA memberships to dine. The seating area will be roughly the same size as the current location, with a similar sized room attached that will be accessible when not booked for classes.
While the new location is currently under construction, the Bridgewater location is currently open 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily and from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sundays.
