Diddy Sentence Reaches Appeals Court
The lawyers of Sean “Diddy” Combs are in the process of overturning the 50-month prison sentence imposed in October 2025. No ruling was immediate on the appeal. Combs was convicted of two counts of transportation for the purpose of prostitution in July 2025, two violations of the Mann Act. The case has been called “exceptionally difficult” at the end of proceedings. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christy Slavik, one of the prosecutors, argued that sentencing Diddy to 50 months was not only appropriate but below the federal standard for sentencing. Combs’ lawyers have attacked Judge Arun Subramanian, calling him a “thirteenth juror.”
Indicted in September 2024, Combs has been at the center of a lengthy legal process. Nearly three dozen people took the stand as witnesses to testify in the case. Questions surrounding Combs’ behavior began to arise after his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura sued him. Ventura claimed that he had sexually, physically, and emotionally abused her; coerced her into participating in his “freak-off” parties (orgies held by Combs); and caused her to develop a drug dependency, which he used to control her. It ended in a $20 million settlement in court. Several other men and women have sued Combs for sexual misconduct as well.
His legal team has acknowledged that drugs were present at his “freak-offs.” They have also acknowledged domestic abuse and other bad behaviors. It isn’t known when the appeals court will make its ruling on the appeal of Combs’ sentence.
