Looking to get involved on campus? BSU is the place to be.
BSU has over 90 established student organizations and eight fraternities and sororities. Clubs range from your favorite student-led newspaper, The Comment, to recent Organization of the Year recipient, Alpha Sigma Tau.
Adapting to a new environment and making friends can be nerve-racking. Through joining clubs, you can meet like-minded individuals. It serves as a great way to promote togetherness and belonging on BSU’s campus and make friends along the way.
Our Sororities and Fraternities focus on assisting the community, making it a great fit if you’re interested in volunteer work. Varying per organization, they hold various amounts of recruitment opportunities such as their formal fall recruitment and campus open biddings (COB), where you can join later on in the semester.
If you don’t find an organization that is the best fit for you, don’t worry, you can establish your own! All you need is the three Fs—a friend, a fun idea, and a faculty member. Clubs can be anything from professional development to simply your interests. They range from pickle tasting to sports podcasting. Recently, students established Cut & Paste, an organization that aims to create an inclusive and fun art community through scrapbooking.
Happening at the start of each semester is the Club and Involvement fair, showcasing the various organizations. In the fall, you can stop by tables lining the walkway of University Park to get more information on how you can get involved on campus. This is a great opportunity to get to know some of the officers within organizations and learn more on how you can attend future meetings and events.
