“The Batman Part 2” Delayed Again, Who’s Surprised?
The Batman: Part II is now slated to come out in February, 2028. It was originally supposed to come out October of 2025. This is due to enormous delays caused by the 2023 industry strikes initially delaying the film, the extraordinarily long writing process delaying it to 2026, and more development errors pushed it to 2027. This caused lead actor, Robert Pattinson, to start making other commitments and have frankly an amazing 2026 of films. The Odyssey, The Drama, Primetime, and Dune: Part Three all drove Pattinson away from the project.
In early October of this year, director Matt Reeves was required to step away from the movie due to family matters. In the wake of him leaving, Steven Soderbergh took the reigns to hopefully finish the production, or just hold down the fort until Reeves returns.
With another delay, fans must continue speculating what the movie could even be about. Little to no information has been given about the substance of the movie, other than the fact its going to be based in winter. With the announcement of infamous Marvel actor, Sebastian Stan, joining the cast, fans are attempting to guess who he may be portraying. The heavy guess many lean to is Harvey Dent, or known in the Batman Universe as “Two-Face.” Other theories swarmed the internet as a set photo was posted. The photo posted on Instagram showed a faux protest taking place in the streets of Gotham, one sign saying “Court of Fouls”. “The Court of Owls” is the magnum opus of Batman’s Villains. They are a deep network of wealthy elites that essentially run Gotham City, and are supposed to be the biggest threat Batman faces.
Will this movie ever come out? Hopefully with the new director, and Robert Pattinson having a break from being Hollywood’s biggest star, The Batman: Part II should be able to come out in February like said. But who knows, at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets delayed further.
