The Elusive Clam Chowder Fridays!
Elusively, Bears Den serves clam chowder every single Friday. Surprisingly, it is one of the best things BSU dining has to offer. I would say I am uniquely qualified to be reviewing this dish as I purchase a cup, without fail, each week. I first discovered Clam Chowder Fridays two years ago, and ever since it’s been the perfect end to my work week.
While I have a surplus of positive things to say about this fantastic chowder, nothing is truly perfect. My biggest complaint is that there is never enough clam. Additionally, the clam to potato ratio is extremely unbalanced. I will say that I do appreciate that the potatoes are soft but not mushy and how the dish is always well seasoned. This past week the base was more gravy-esque; I didn’t hate it, but gravy is not chowder. On the scale of Bears Den soups, I’d say the chowder is a 10/10. This week’s batch was a solid 8/10. I implore you, if interested, to stop by Bears Den and give it a taste
