Fall ’23 Fraternity and Sorority Recruitment

September marked the beginning of fall recruitment for the 10 Panhellenic organizations here at Bridgewater State. In regard to the Fall 2023 recruitment, Greek life has made a significant change. Former Sigma Chi President Jared Lang (he/him) shares, “First-semester freshmen are now allowed to join Greek organizations, which greatly increases our potential new members.” Sigma Chi Fraternity recently made history, as their Sigma Chi Leadership Institute became a candidate for accreditation of its courses, a feat no other Greek-letter organization has achieved.

As for the Panhellenic sororities, on September 28th,  invitations to one of the four sororities were extended to students who formally entered the registration process. When asked about her history with the sorority, President of Gamma Phi Beta Kelsey Sweeney (’24) says it is her fourth year with the organization and joining was one of the best decisions she has ever made. The sorority’s charitable endeavors include supporting the Children’s Physical Developmental Clinic (CPDC) and participating in the Boston Girls on the Run 5k. She wants everyone to know that “recruitment is an amazing experience. All BSU students should know that Gamma Phi Beta builds strong girls and would love to speak to anyone interested in joining our organization.”
