Cheap chic: Don’t Sweat It

It seems that college students today created their own unofficial uniform: sweatpants. Yes, sweatpants are so comfortable and easy to wear, but the problem with sweats is that they should only be worn for exercise or to relax. Well ladies, if you love sweatpants, there are more unique ways to style them.
One of the biggest trends right now is adding sweatpants with dressy pieces for a cute, casual look that you can wear at any occasion. Whether you’re getting ready for school, a day at the office, or a night out with the girls, you won’t have to choose between stylish or comfortable. Now you can have both.
Another amazing thing about sweatpants is that they aren’t expensive. It all depends where you go to get them. Here I took a pair of gray sweatpants from Target that were on sale for only $10. With these pants, I made two possible outfit combinations that can work for any style.
If you’re going for a more sophisticated look, get some dressy pieces, including a blouse and blazer. What you wear for shoes is essential for achieving this look.
During the day, I would wear a cute pair of flats. I bought these adorable Coach moccasins for only $5 at The Hidden Treasure Quality Consignments in Bridgewater. Then, I added a statement necklace and layered bracelets. A great part about this outfit is that if you’re going out afterward, switch the flats with a sexy pair of heels.
To add some flavor to the casual look of sweatpants, I have taken unique pieces to create an adorable outfit that doesn’t make you look like you just rolled out of bed.
Inspired by the fabulous designers at H&M, I took a chambray or denim shirt, and put a crop sweatshirt over it. Then I added a cute pair of sneakers in black or leopard print. Again, you cannot go wrong with accessories, including a chain necklace, a watch, bracelets or a cute beanie.
Not only will you save money on the individual pieces, but by creating two different looks with the same pieces, you will save tons of cash.
