The four big weeks during fashion month are never boring. With newsworthy capsule collections, celebrity shockers, and unforgettable clothes, there’s no reason not to keep up with it all. The month of September presents the shows for the Spring/Summer Ready to Wear 2015 season.

It was a big shocker when Australian model Gemma Ward opened the Prada show in Milan. Ward has been absent in the fashion world since 2008 according to The Cut. The forever-youthful looking model caused a tremendous sea of excitement among showgoers, exploding the twitterverse.

Miley Cyrus had a couple big moments during Fashion Month so far. First of which, showing up to the Alexander Wang after party in jeans and pasties. Perhaps not her best look (although the girl is toned), but she put her wild style to good use in a collaboration with designer Jeremy Scott. The pieces are very much rave accessories: bright and mostly plastic.

Jeremy Scott created a Barbie world for the Moschino show. Lots of pink, sparkles, and blonde wigs. Not very practical, but he definitely put on a show. Roller skates and dumbbells were also involved.

One of the most notable celebrity appearances is Kendall Jenner. This season was her biggest, participating in 6 shows before Paris Fashion Week. It isn’t common for reality stars to jump into runway modeling. Her “E!” fame may have gotten her the position, but she clearly knows what she is doing. Her off-duty style is one to note too; quite the sophistication for a teenager.

Fashion week is where trends are born. Not only in the shows, but on the streets. We see current season trends in what models, editors, stylists, and the like wear to attend shows. It’s the time to experiment most with fashion, and be photographed a lot. Google street style stars like Anna Dello Russo and Olivia Palermo for award-winning outfit combos.

Statement jackets were big, especially in London. Create an outfit around a patterned jacket to stand out from your North Face-clad peers. Upgraded backpacks were also a chic accessory during Fashion Month. Unconventional fabrics and prints were worn by the high fashion crowd. To tone it down for school, choose a fun print or unique canvas style.

Trends on the runway forecast spring and summer looks. Ideas can be derived and altered for the fall season. Many designers created collections with a bohemian vibe: effortless, hippie, and soft are words that come to mind.

Missoni, Anna Sui, Etro (with a southwestern twist), and Just Cavalli were all shows with the bohemian trend. Add maxi dresses with fall layers and tight patterns to wear the look now. Forever 21 and Urban Outfitters both carry southwestern prints with their fall pieces.

Crop tops will stick around, in even more options. Neutrals, prints, and new shapes were shown on the runways, giving you tons of new outfit ideas, and motivation to hit the gym. Nicole Miller presented some fun options: think tropical vacation. Print mixing will also remain a big trend in the spring.

The motto is to take risks. Unexpected patterns, crazy colors. Anything works with the right fit, accessories, and confidence. Start with small prints, or never-fail combos like stripes and florals. Street style blogs and sites like WhoWhatWear.com provide lots of outfit inspiration.
